This tutorial will walk you through the Messages tab on your mobile app. (For simple instructions on how to send a message, click here.)
You'll first select who should be the recipients of your message, as well as whether you want your message to be sent immediately or at a later time.
If you select to send it later, it will ask you what date and time you would like to send it.
Next you'll select whether you'd like your message to be sent as "SMS" or "MMS."
SMS can contain no media and can contain up to 160 characters per message.
MMS can contain attachments (such as images) and can contain up to 1,550 characters, but they count as 3 messages per recipient to send.
Then you can fill out the message content and send/schedule your message.
(Note: the "Header" and "Footer" are optional content you can include at the beginning and/or ending of your message. Whatever you input into these fields will be saved for future messages.)
Images, Names, Links, Custom Fields, and Templates
If you'd like to include an image in your message, you can select the MMS option, and then you'll be able to select an image from your device. This option also increases your maximum character count to 1550 instead of 160. (Remember that each MMS counts as 3 message credits per recipient instead of 1):
Whether you're sending as SMS or MMS, you can select the "+" icon to reveal "Names," "Link," and "Custom Fields" options:
Selecting the "Names" option will allow you to input your subscribers' individual names into your message.
Selecting the "Link" option will allow you to shorten a link to make it more conducive to a text message. This will also make the link trackable from your "Report->Link Tracking Report" in your web platform.
Selecting the "Custom Field" option will allow you to insert any custom fields you've inputted on your web platform's settings.
Lastly, selecting the icon on the top right corner of the "Content" box will allow you to save the text you've typed in as a template to use for future, or to insert an already-existing template into your current message:
